Facial Proportions Features

Before you start the below exercise a fun and optional exercise is to first draw some features such as eyes, nose, mouth etc without first tracing them. Just draw them as you’re use to drawing them, how you would have before starting this course. Then continue on and note the differences you’re able to obvserve.

Using new tracing paper and reference image (or images) trace the features of the face. These include:

  • eyes (both, not just one)
  • nose
  • ears
  • eyebrows
  • lips
  • cupids bow (the space between the nose and upper lip)
  • any more parts of the face that you’d like to focus on

Get to know these features, and begin to see just how much they differ from what you’re use to drawing.
